“I am just one of the many artists in the Utah community who have been lucky enough to devote some of their time and efforts to the creation of art. My studies have all been nurtured in this community, taking advantage of the talents and insights of my gifted and benevolent teachers and mentors, while being surrounded by some of the most varied and spectacular scenery on earth.

I love to paint, I love getting lost in what I am doing, to be in that zone of not knowing about anything around me, of time standing still, of looking at the endless variations of color, medium, subject, and composition, and being overwhelmed.

There is no hidden message or deep insight in what I do. I do what I like, what I think is interesting, or what is a challenge to me. I don’t plan ahead too much, other than having a subject in mind and doing my best to create the essence of it, using all types of water based medium to do this. Color is my love, bright, bold, brilliant color, even when using watercolor. There is nothing like squeezing red right out of the tube. My style varies from tight to loose, but realism forms the basis of what I do. I like to see some subject matter in my works, but would be the first to say I learn from every painting, so the future is open to anything.

Time will tell if my efforts will be popular, sought after, or left to the storage bin, but I will be forever grateful to whatever led me down this path, whatever allowed me some time to indulge in this means of expression and I will eternally thank the gods for giving me an interest in art, and through its pursuit, allowing me to become a benefactor of its greatest gift - learning how to see
